When I saw the letter from the Monroe-Woodbury parent regarding our fans' poor sportsmanship at the Dome, I shrugged it off to sour grapes. When I saw the letter from the Auburn person agreeing with her, I wondered if she had been at the same game I was.

Let me just say that to have such a large group representing our city handle themselves in such an outstanding manner was truly a joy to see.

The students likewise presented themselves as a fine example of Auburn's best.

There wasn't a problem before, during or after the game that I was aware of.

Sure there was a little good natured razzing when the other team came out, but to call it bad sportsmanship is hard to understand. Our fans were great all day long.

I think it was one of the great moments in not only Auburn sports history, but in its history overall and I think the incredible number of fans that showed up did Auburn proud!

Leaving that game, my overwhelming feeling was how memorable it would always be to know I got to witness an example of our community spirit at its very best.
