Skaneateles hosting youth hockey night
The Skaneateles hockey team will host Youth Hockey Night Friday, Dec. 15, at the Skaneateles Community Center. Players who wear their Skaneateles Youth Hockey Association jerseys will have free admission. There will be a a 50/50 raffle, as well as chuck-a-puck as the Lakers take on Fulton at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, the Lakers host LaSalle at 1 p.m. All senior citizens will be admitted free. Refreshments will be served, and a free raffle will be provided for senior citizens.

Fly-tying course offered at Bass Pro

Bass Pro Shops will host two six-week basic fly-tying courses beginning in January. Classes will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Mondays and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays starting the week of Jan. 8. Students should bring their own vise and tools; a textbook, hooks and materials will be provided. The cost is $30, and sign ups are available at the Fly Shop.

Port Byron to hold baseball clinic

There will be a baseball clinic for Port Byron boys in grades fourth through eighth from 1 to 3 p.m., Dec. 27-30 at the Port Byron Middle School gym.

Union Springs alumni night Jan. 10

The Union Springs High School wrestling team is having an alumni night on Jan. 10, at the high school. The Wolves invite alumni to attend for desserts and coffee in the cafeteria before the 5 p.m. match against Groton.

Pancake breakfast will benefit AHS

There will be a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Knights of Columbus. The event will benefit Auburn High School basketball.

The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 10. Children under 5 are free.

Softball clinic at LeMoyne College

LeMoyne College is hosting softball clinics from 9 a.m. to noon Sundays Dec. 3 and 17, Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28, and Feb. 11, at the LeMoyne Athletic and Recreation Building.

The cost is $12 per week and is for girls 10 and up. The clinic offers instruction in pitching, catching, hitting, fielding and base running by the LeMoyne coaching staff and current and former players.
