SPENCER - Stephanie Jakaub scored 15 points and helped lead the Union Springs girls basketball team to its first win of the season, 30-27 over Spencer-Van Etten Saturday.
The Wolves' Deven Gary had five points and 13 rebounds while Christine Cornell added 11 rebounds.
Union Springs (1-2) hosts Southern Cayuga Tuesday.

Section IV Age Group Meet
In the Boys 9 and 10th grade group, Southern Cayuga's Alex Schmitt came in second in the 600-meter race (1:41.4) at SUNY Cortland.
In the Girls 9 and 10th grade group, Moravia's Jen Cornwell took first in the shots put (30-4) and Gabe Chiddy was fifth in the triple jump (27-11).

In the Girls 11 and 12th grade group, Katharine Miller came in third in the 1,000-meter race (3:24.7) for Southern Cayuga.

Thomas A Edison 62, Southern Cayuga 58, OT
Lucas Pettit led the Chiefs with 19 points and Caleb Schonfeld added 11. The defense also played well in the loss.
VOLLEYBALL
Cato-Meridian 3, Hannibal 2
Nicole Champion led the Blue Devils with eight aces and nine kills in the 25-22, 22-25, 25-27, 25-28, 25-20 win. Marianne Hirsh had three aces and three kills, Ruth Kazulak had five kills and two blocks, Kaitlin Holt recorded five kills and two blocks and Jennifer Leach had one kill and 15 assists.
Cato-Meridian (3-1) hosts Onondaga on Monday.

Jordan-Elbridge 76, Cazenovia 71
Christian Berwind led the Eagles with a game-high 27 points including seven 3-pointers.
Mitch Merrill and Teddy Hart added 18 and 12 points, respectively and hit key free throws down the stretch.
Zach Frost and Jeff Donofrio each pulled down 12 rebounds for Jordan-Elbridge.
The Eagles host Homer Monday.
