I think it's commendable that the Korean War veterans who instituted the Korean War Memorial want to do it again to honor soldiers who fought throughout American history. They want permission to include a white cross in the design but what about the soldiers that fought for America who are of a relgion other than a Christian?
It would be refreshing if the Cayuga County Legislators would treat their employees with some dignity when labor contracts come do and this goes for CCC particularly. I find it appalling that the faculty, who on average make less money than Auburn School teachers, have had to work for almost four years without a contract, because of the 'poor faith' shown by the legislatures' appointee.

I think it would be a big mistake to shut down the AMH Maternity ward, as I delivered two babies in less than ten minutes. I can't imagine driving to Syracuse, as I would never have made it.

On Dec. 7, I had to drive the full length of Rockefeller Road twice on 99 percent ice and hard packed snow. The Cayuga County legislature is on notice to re-instate the salt and plowing procedures that worked perfectly for 30 years, or else the howlers will get you.

To all the smokers that read this paper, when you are finished with a cigarette dispose of it properly. When you just toss it on the ground it is littering and littering is a $500 fine in New York State and it could potentially start a fire.

What is going on with Time Warner as first we lose the NFL Channel and ESPNU, now on the scroll bar on the community channel they are taking away WNYS, WSYT the Fox channel, TMC, Encore, GAC on Demand, HGTV and Spike TV. I'm beginning to think Adelphia wasn't so bad.

" Glad to see there was at least one fan at the same Maroons game at the dome that I was. Auburns fans were nothing short of fantastic! It was a day to be long remembered! "

" Until US industries learn to make QUALITY products at AFFORDABLE prices using domestic labor and materials, we will all be buying, wearing and using products made abroad or with components and materials made abroad. Giving our business to foreign countries is one of the perks and chips with which our politicians make deals with foreign countries -- they don't give a damn about the American worker any more than the companies which employ them. American workers can be the most productive sector on the planet while everyone else sponges off us, gives the fruits of our labor away as aid to other countries we personally detest, spend it on a war many of us don't support, etc etc. No wonder Thomas Jefferson wrote: "God forbid we ever go 100 years without a revolution." "

" Tommorow I will go to work wearing my shoes, pants, socks, and underwear that are made in China. My shirt is made in Sri Lanka. My coat is made in Mexico. For breakfast I will have orange juice that is made from oranges from Brazil and cereal from Canada. I will drive my Hyuandi made in Korea to a job where the company is owned by overseas investors. I'm proud to be American!! "

" The U.S.has primarily been a christian nation. If you don't like the cross, don't look at it! Most Politicians only care about themselves! I find it absolutely ridiculous that they don't want a maternity ward at a hospital!!! The smokers tossing there butts all over are the same ignorant people who don't realize how bad they reek!!! I know being a former smoker!!! I'm surprised that hasn't been enforce at least around entryways to public bldg's.!We all should change to Dish Network (less exspensive-more channels and better reception and yes even in bad weather!!!!!! " Why doesn't the city provide proper trash bins for our residents? Perhaps a system that provides one bin per household, and additional bins for a fee. This would cut down on street debris, and help with our crow problem. "

" Wake up and smell the coffee. We as Americans are our own worst enemy. We want to pay cheap prices but don't want to pay high wages. So, we must import everything. Look at everything you buy where is it from? Probably some county that we went to war with!!! Take a look at that flag you fly in front of your house. Betcha its from CHINA, or that sweatshirt with and American flag embroidered on it that says proud to be American.. "

" What is not commendable about the Korean War Memorial ??? Everyone including the retailer that sold it thinks it is perfectly alright to make the "granite" (actually it is " garbo" )from a chinese source, the same that made the bullets that killed our soldiers SHAME ON YOU. You would think someone would have the decent mind to use domestic materials "
