Slander toward younger boyfriend is too much
The wedding between Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida and her longtime Spanish boyfriend has been called off, news reports in Italy and Spain said Wednesday.

Lollobrigida, 79, had been scheduled to marry Javier Rigau y Rafols, 45, of Barcelona, Spain, on Jan. 27, in Rome. The couple, who met at a party in Monte Carlo, Monaco, had been dating for 22 years.

“Javier is desperate. Ever since we have announced this wedding, he has been tormented with lies and slander,” Lollobrigida was quoted as saying by the ANSA news agency.

“He can't take it anymore,” Lollobrigida was quoted as saying. “For now there is no wedding and that's it.”

TomKat newlyweds to throw wedding bash

Newlyweds Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will celebrate their nuptials with a post-wedding party in Los Angeles this weekend.

A reception/cocktail party will be held Saturday at the home of Hollywood power couple Paula Wagner, who is Cruise's producing partner, and Rick Nicita, the actor's agent, Arnold Robinson, a spokesman for Cruise, told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Cruise, 44, and Holmes, 27, were married Nov. 18 in Bracciano, Italy. Afterward, they flew to the Maldives for a two-week honeymoon.

The romance that

never was, is no more

Representatives for Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn have confirmed that the Hollywood couple have called it quits, People magazine reported on its Web site.

“Jennifer and Vince mutually agreed to end their relationship but continue to be good friends today,” said representatives Stephen Huvane and John Pisani, according to People.com, in a story posted Tuesday.

Their representatives said the former co-stars decided to end their romance after Aniston visited Vaughn in London in October.

Dick sorry for repeat performance of Richards

Andy Dick has apologized for using the same racial slur that got ex-”Seinfeld” star Michael Richards in trouble last month.

Dick, a former co-star of the ‘90s sitcom “NewsRadio,” jumped onstage during a routine by Ian Bagg at the Improv on Saturday night and used the n-word in an apparent attempt to joke about Richards, the celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported.

“I chose to make a joke about a subject that is not funny,” said the statement, which was provided to the Los Angeles Times. “In an attempt to make light of a serious subject, I have offended a lot of people, and I am sorry for my insensitivity.
