Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

A. It's gratifying to know that I can play a role in improving a participant's level of physical fitness and overall well-being.

Q. What is the most challenging?

A. Teaching a class on a day when I am too tired, not feeling well or just want to sleep in.

Q. Describe your ideal workout.

A. 45 minutes of intense cardio (i.e. cycling, running, etc.) then 15 minutes of a weighted workout, 15 minutes of stretching or Asana (a type of yoga stretching) and 10 minutes of breathing.

Q. What is the best piece of advice you could give someone to stay healthy?

A. It's all about balance between mind, body and spirit. Give an equal amount of attention to all three.

Q. What's the most common misconception you hear from people in your classes?

A. If you do sit-ups you will lose belly fat - wrong!

Q. What would be your dream job?

A. I'm quite satisfied as I am now: mother, part-time fitness instructor. Eventually I'd like to become more involved in the field of mind/body medicine.

Q. For someone considering a career like yours, what advice would you offer?

A. Two things you have to like are exercise and people, the latter being the more important one.

Q. What's your ideal cure for the common cold?

A. Drink lots of water and sweat it out.

Q. What do you like most about the Finger Lakes?

A. The cold weather - I love it!

Q. What would people who think they know you be most surprised to find out about you?

A. I'm an introvert. I'm most restored by quiet and being alone.
