Downtown Auburn's 2006 Holiday Parade and Celebration is rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 24 instead of the originally planned date of Saturday, Nov. 25.
Dan Schuster, executive assistant for the Downtown Auburn Business Improvement District, said the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by fireworks in East Middle School's Holland Stadium.

The parade date was changed in case the Auburn High School football team competes in the state championship Saturday, Nov. 25. AHS varsity football players and other high school sports teams will be congratulated at the Friday event.

Shuster said an Auburn resident donated the fireworks to display in celebration for the football team's success and possibility of playing in the state championship if they win in the Class AA tournament semifinal game this Saturday.
