Girl Scout cookie sales ongoing
Girl Scouts will be selling cookies through November at booths in the Auburn area.

Sales booths will be open at Movieplex 10 on Grant Avenue from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18; Lowe's from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 and at the same time Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Fingerlakes Mall on Saturday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 25 and at the Community Bank in Cato from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24. The cost is $3.50 a box.

Polite Pizza Party with Mr. Manners

Children ages 7 to 10 can sign up for a course with Mr. Manners (Paul Knittel), a former school teacher who now teaches basic manners like saying “please” and “thank you,” phone etiquette and good sportsmanship.

The course will consist of role-playing games followed by a Polite Pizza Party.

Class times will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Great Room of the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles, 97 E. Genesee St.

Millstone makes menu changes

Millstone Restaurant is expanding its menu beginning this month.

A wider selection of soups, sandwiches and desserts will be available, and owner Julie Bilinski also plans to add a salad bar.

Thanksgiving pie sale in Cato

The Cato, Ira, Victory and Conquest (CIViC) Heritage Historical Society will hold a Thanksgiving Pie Sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 17, at the Cato Community Bank on 2516 W. Main St.

A variety of pies will be for sale, including cherry, apple, pumpkin and blueberry. Proceeds from the sale will fund a new history center the society plans to begin building soon.

Cocktail reception at Cayuga Museum

The Cayuga Museum of History and Art will host a fundraiser cocktail reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the museum, 203 Genesee St.

Wine tastings will be available and hors d'oeuvres will be served. A raffle and exhibition tours will also be offered.

Thanksgiving service at temple

The annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Temple B'Nai Israel on 8 John Smith Ave.

The service gives thanks with readings, music and reflections in the traditions of Christian, Muslim and other faiths.

All are welcome, including children who will be invited to participate in a candlelighting ceremony.

Participants are asked to bring canned goods for the Cayuga/ Seneca Food Pantry.

Church spaghetti dinner

The youth group at SS. Peter and John Episcopal Church will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Parish House on 169 Genesee St.

Dinners will follow every fourth Wednesday of every month until June. Meatballs will be served with dinner and homemade desserts will follow.

Breakfast with Santa in December

Emerson Park will be holding a breakfast with Santa from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 9 and 16. The park is located along Route 38A at the northern tip of Owasco Lake.

The breakfast is $1, but children under two will be admitted free if they bring a canned good. Spots at Santa's table are limited, so advance ticket purchase is recommended.

PTO cookie sale in Cato

The Cato Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization will hold a Christmas cookie sale on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school's recreational center.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward the new history center being built by the CIViC Heritage Historical Society. Quart-sized cookie bags are $5, gallon bags are $10 and large tins can be purchased for $15.
