CHEEKTOWAGA #- Michelle Feldman will indeed bowl in the Denny's Professional Bowling Association, for this week, at least.
Wednesday, she fired 1,556 for seven games to finish second overall in a one-day qualifying round for the Etonic Championship at Thruway Lanes, near Buffalo.
Feldman was one of just seven bowlers to advance in the Wednesday qualifier, rolling games of 233, 246, 210, 209, 233, 191 and 234.
Liz Johnson, a Cheektowaga native, qualified third with 1,547.
Feldman and Johnson joined Kelly Kulick in this morning's field of 64 bowlers, marking the first time in PBA Tour history that three women have competed in a standard Tour event.
The bowlers were to shoot 14 games beginning at 11 a.m., with the top 32 advancing to Friday's match play.
“We haven't done this in a long time; it's going to be fantastic,” said Gary Feldman, Michelle's grandfather and sponsor, who planned on being at Thruway Lanes.
