New county manager to appear on show
Cayuga County Administrator Wayne Allen will appear on “Inside Government with Guy Cosentino” at 7 p.m. today on Channel 11. He will discuss his first seven days on the job.
Also, “Beyond the Front Page with Guy Cosentino” will feature United Way advocate Susan Storms, of Weedsport, and co-chairs Jon Budelmann and Lon Fricano. They will discuss the status of this year's campaign, which has just hit the half-way mark. The show will air at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on Channel 11.
The programs were taped by Cayuga Community College Telecommunications Department students.
Adult care facility gets $20,000 grant
The Allyn Foundation has awarded a $20,000 grant to Evergreen Heights, a 60-bed adult care facility in Weedsport.
The money will go toward renovating the residents' bathrooms, and was specifically earmarked for that project. The facility's executive director, Laurie A. Didio, said she anticipated work would begin in December.
Brutus revaluation starts next year
A property revaluation program is under way for next year for the town of Brutus.
Fitts Appraisal Co. will take digital photos of all parcels during November. Inventory records are available in the town hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, but the offices close for lunch Fridays.
Property owners can review the information the firm will use to assess the properties. Residents can call the assessing department at 834-9398.
