William L. Jones still has not come in from the cold. Earlier this week, the controversial Mentz supervisor said he planned to turn himself in at the Brutus Town Court. When the 7 p.m. court time arrived, however, the town court was closed and Jones was a no-show. His attorney, Salvatore Piemonte of Syracuse, confirmed that he had been scheduled to meet Jones at the Brutus town court last night.

Supreme Court Judge Robert Contiguglia announced his decision Wednesday that plans for the Aurora Inn can go forward. In his written decision, Contiguglia said the Aurora Coalition's claims that the village board acted inappropriately in approving the plans to renovate the Aurora Inn were without merit.

The inn will be the first project the Aurora Foundation will undertake. The foundation is a partnership between Wells College and multi-millionaire Pleasant T. Rowland, a Wells alumna.
The coalition, formed in August to promote responsible community change and historic preservation, filed the suit in September in an effort to stop renovation plans for the inn. A hearing was held Oct. 23.
