Mystie enjoys playing indoors, snuggling a lot

Saturday, November 4, 2006 11:49 PM EST

Each Sunday, The Citizen features a pet which is available for adoption.
This week, we spotlight Mystie from the Finger Lakes SPCA.

Q. Describe your favorite toy?

A. It is one of these crankily foil-looking balls that catch the light in my room. I love to chase it around.

Q. Do you like playing inside or outside?

A. My roomies and I think we need to eliminate this question from the interview. We all absolutely want to stay inside where we will be safe and out of harm's way. Although, I recently heard about some cool cats that have an electric fence and wear collars that keep them close to home.

Q. If you could live in the wild, anywhere in the world where would it be?

A. There is a pretty wild place right here in the shelter. It is our cat playroom, and it is filled with lots of climbing things, branches and toys. We all get a chance to hang out there when the weather is nice.

Q. What is your favorite kind of treat?

A. I love treats and am not particular on what they are. I like a variety - and there is a real treat smorgasbord here in the shelter.

Q. Chicken or fish?

A. If I had to choose one flavor, it would be tuna. However, someone was eating sardines in here the other day - and that smelled “pawsitively” wonderful.

Q. How often do you like to be groomed?

A. I have been given the shelter version of a spa treatment - nails trimmed, ears cleaned, flea-combed and a brushing. So, if that's grooming ... I like it.

Q. If there's one thing you don't enjoy it's _____?

A. Getting all those shots. But I'm think I'm finished with those for a while anyway.

Q. Fill in the blank. My ideal owner should know _______ ?

A. That I will require lots of snuggle time when they take me home, and I will give back lots of love and purrs.

Mystie

Age: 6 months old

Comments from the SPCA:

What is unusual about Mystie, and unlike most other shelter residents, is that we know exactly when Mystie was born. Her birthday is May 4 of this year and she was 6 months old on Saturday.

Mystie is a very sweet, loving and affectionate girl. She is a drop-dead gorgeous gold color with a bit of white. She also has stunning golden eyes, which are always searching the crowd of visitors for that special person who will take her home.

She is up to date on all of her vaccinations and is negative for FIV/Leukemia. She has also been worm and flea treated. She is a neat little girl and her litter box manners are impeccable. Mystie is not yet spayed but by law she must be as soon as possible.

Mystie is available for adoption right now. The fee for her is $90 (if she has not been spayed prior to leaving), which includes up to date vaccinations, FIV/Leukemia testing, feline kennel cough vaccination, flea/worm treatment and a refundable $50 spay deposit. If she has been spayed, the fee will be $75.
