NYC art show has area students
The New York State Art Teachers Association/New York State School Boards Association Art Show held in New York City today, has the following students' works included.
From Moravia: Darrien Delaney, Hanna Bilow, Travis Allen, Chelsea Hagin, Larissa Rogler and Helen Hunsinger.
From Genesee Elementary School: Jada Barrett, Jenn Quimby, Malena Rajaphouny, Brigit Cotter, Trianna Daniels and Katie Dransfield.
From Seward Elementary School: Gavin Ellis, Paul Giovannetti and Jacob O'Hearn.

Scholarship fund taking applications
The Janice and Paul Keesler Scholarship fund is accepting applications from qualified students.
As a living memorial for two people who loved New York state and the outdoors, the fund assists students training in the field of wildlife management. This scholarship is available to any New York State resident who has been accepted into an accredited institution and working toward a degree in wildlife management.
Individuals interested in applying for these scholarships may do so by sending a request for an application form, along with a stamped, self-addressed legal size envelope to The Janice and Paul Keesler Scholarship Fund, c/o Bridge Kessler, 135 Eastwood Ave., Utica, NY 13502.
The completed application form must be returned to the committee no later than Dec. 31.

Poets to read at Wells College
The Wells College Visiting Writer Series announces that several poets will return to campus for a group poetry reading in honor of the FootHills Press' 20th anniversary. Five authors will read at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, in the Art Exhibit Room, Macmillan Hall. Each has had work printed by FootHills Publishing. The free reading will be followed by a reception with an opportunity to meet the poets; light refreshments will be served.
Prior to the reading, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Art Exhibit Room, FootHills founder and publisher Michael Czarnecki will talk and answer questions about small press publishing. At 7 p.m. four FootHills writers with new or recent books will read from their work: Anne Coon, Teresa Gilman, Christine Gelineau and Wells Professor of English Bruce Bennett; Czarnecki will also read briefly.

Ithaca College to present ‘Urinetown'
Ithaca College Theater will present Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis's “Urinetown: The Musical,” winner of three Tony Awards. Evening performances will take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 31, Nov. 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10. Matinees will be offered at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 and 11. All performances will be in the Hoerner Theater, Dillingham Center, Ithaca College.
