President Roosevelt is 48 years old today. He was the recipient of many congratulations but passed the day very much according to the routine which marks his everyday life.

The baseball playoffs have been so exciting, that fans have forgotten the black eye the game suffered after the 1994 strike kayoed the World Series. A list drawn up by Charlie Wride showed more than 60 baseball people were involved in the playoffs or the World Series. The New York Yankees have 14, and the Atlanta Braves have four in the World Series.
