Democratic gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer made a campaign stop in Auburn Wednesday morning, speaking to a crowd of Democratic supporters and some surprised patrons at Auburn Family Restaurant.
Also with Spitzer was state Sen. David Valesky, D-Oneida, who is running against Assemblyman Jeff Brown, R-Syracuse, for the 49th State Senate District seat.
After posing for pictures and speaking with restaurant patrons, Spitzer spoke briefly, largely focusing on the need for reform in Albany.
"Everybody's for reform right now; it's all about what it means," Spitzer said. "What's important to me is to be able to talk to people and explain to them what we plan to do."
Republican John Faso is the other major-party challenger in the governor's race this year.
Spitzer also spoke Wednesday on behalf of Democratic candidates Valesky and Oneida County District Attorney Michael Arcuri, who is running against state Sen. Ray Meier, R-Oneida, for the 24th Congressional District seat.
