Congressional candidate Arcuri can't do worse!

Monday, September 25, 2006 9:24 AM EDT

How can congressional candidate Ray Meier brag about his commitment to job creation? Just look at the record in Oneida County.
Meier was named Oneida County executive in 1991 and elected state senator in 1996. During that period, Oneida County lost thousands of jobs. Even after the closings of Griffiss Air Force Base and Lockheed Martin in the 1990s, the county continued to bleed jobs. According to the U.S. Department of Labor statistics (BLS), from 2001 to 2005, Oneida County lost more than 4,000 jobs.

Ben Franklin's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the same results. Meier has had his chances to improve that region's economy. He failed. Mike Arcuri believes we need new approaches. I believe he deserves the opportunity to represent the 24th District.
