I'd like to express my opinion in regard to the Two Cents that was in yesterday that stated senior citizens on the STAR program did not pay school taxes. I don't know where they get their information, but I have a bill for over $3,000 and I am a senior.
Unfortunately, there are some people residing in the Auburn school district who would rather use their state taxes to support other districts' capital improvements, rather than their own.
Everybody in the city of Auburn knows that Mike Long is not qualified to be city manager. He's just there to be Timmy Lattimore's whipping boy.
Please let's not go on about driver ed in school, which teaches the mechanics of driving. There are always going to be the exceptions who get a license and don't have a clue, not to mention too many adults who use cell phones, ignore red traffic lights, etc., who need more help than teens.
Money is a kind of institutionalized dream which constitutes the main fantasy on which our way of life has been built. In reality, happiness lies with friends, books, a cheerful heart and a conscience clear.
Sounds like Congressman Walsh is doing a flip-flop with President Bush. Guess he's just trying to save his butt.
