McCartney pours his heart out in new album
Paul McCartney's “Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart),” a new classical work for chorus and orchestra, will premiere at Royal Albert Hall on Nov. 3.

The concert will feature soprano Kate Royal and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Orchestra; London Voices; the boy singers of Magdalen College Choir, Oxford; and the boys of King's College Choir, Cambridge, conducted by Gavin Greenaway - the same cast that appears on the studio recording, to be released Tuesday by EMI Classics.

Nichtclub puts a hold on questionable lyrics, band

A nightclub has canceled a performance by Buju Banton, a reggae star whose violent lyrics about gays and lesbians have made him a controversial figure, after receiving complaints from patrons.

E-mail messages and phone calls from concerned customers prompted the cancellation of the Oct. 2 show, said Adam Manacker, general manager of the Highland nightclub and restaurant.

“We felt it was the right thing to do after doing some research on the matter,” Manacker said.

Full refunds will be given.

In July, concerts featuring Banton and Beenie Man were canceled in Britain after activists said both artists refused to stop using anti-gay lyrics. Two of Banton's songs released early in his career, “Batty Rider” and “Boom Bye Bye,” glorify the shooting of gay men.

Banton's most recent album, “Too Bad,” released earlier this month, omits homophobic lyrics.

Welcome home Petty, glad you could fit it in

Tom Petty has come home.

“Every corner you turn is some kind of memory,” said the 55-year-old rocker, who grew up in Gainesville and hasn't played here in 13 years.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' concert at the O'Connell Center on the University of Florida campus Thursday sold out in 10 minutes.

The long delay between Gainesville concerts was the result of the band's summer tour schedule, Petty said. He said the band decided to expand its tour schedule this year.

After a little more than three years of marriage, Matt LeBlanc has finalized his divorce.

The 39-year-old actor has been granted joint custody of his 2-year-old daughter Marina with wife Melissa LeBlanc, according to court papers filed Wednesday. Melissa LeBlanc has two children from a previous marriage.

The LeBlancs filed for divorce on April 6, citing irreconcilable differences. They will be officially single again on Oct. 6.
