Brand's four goals lead Cato-Meridian

JORDAN - Jeremy Brand had four goals to lead Cato-Meridian to a 6-1 victory over Jordan-Elbridge in boys soccer Thursday.
Ivan Rojo had the other two goals for the Blue Devils as they built a 4-1 halftime lead and never let up. Sean Peckham and Rosalio Rojo each had two assists, while Randy Hoyt stopped three shots in goal.

Eli Grauman had 14 saves in goal for the Eagles.

Cato-Meridian hosts Manlius-Pebble Hill Monday, and Jordan-Elbridge heads to Auburn Saturday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Skaneateles 3, Solvay 0

Jenna Lotkowictz scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Lakers. Freshman Amanda Gray added the other goal.

The Lakers outshot the Bearcats 16-10, and Kara Buehler had eight saves in the win.

Skaneateles (5-2) is at Jordan-Elbridge Tuesday.

Westhill 6, Jordan-Elbridge 3

Kristin Raeon had two goals to lead the Eagles.

Rianne Farrugia added another goal, while Alison Ranieri had an assist. Sarah Hart and Sarah Fordyce combined for 15 saves.

Jordan-Elbridge hosts Deruyter Saturday.

Watkins Glen 1,

Southern Cayuga 0

The game was scoreless until the 60th minute when a scramble in front of the net resulted in the lone goal.

Southern Cayuga travels to Notre Dame Monday.

TENNIS

Baldwinsville 6, Auburn 1

Melissa Coughlin remains undefeated for the Maroons, improving to 7-0 this year after winning first singles in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

Auburn (5-2) hosts C-NS Monday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Port Byron 3, Cato-Meridian 2

Ashley Knapp had two goals to lead Port Byron, and Rebecca Humphrey added a goal. Jaclyn Pierce and Chelsea Gilbert scored the goals for Cato-Meridian.

The Blue Devils travel to Cortland Friday.

Baldwinsville 2, Auburn 1

Abbie Reese scored the Maroons' lone goal off an assist from Alanna Sedor and Jamie Handley as Auburn lost a hard-fought game that came down to the end.

Liz Vozga had 11 saves for Auburn.

Auburn hosts C-NS on Saturday.
