Alcohol not involved in fatal car crash
The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office announced alcohol did not play a role in the car crash that led to two teenagers deaths.

James Darby, 17, died Monday at University Hospital of Syracuse from multiple injuries he suffered in a car accident. Emergency crews found Ryan Walker, 19, of Auburn, dead at the scene of the accident that happened last weekend.

Darby of Liverpool was driving northbound on Benham Road near Chamberlain Road in Aurelius when he lost control of a Ford Taurus. The 8-year-old vehicle slid into a tree, trapping both Walker and Darby. Walker's brother, Justin, also of Auburn, sat in the back seat and was treated for injuries at the Syracuse facility. He was able to leave the car on his own.

The Columbian Foundation has given other grants to support a Skaneateles Festival concert and to support a program encouraging seventh- and eighth-graders from Auburn Enlarged City School District to think about college through a visit to Colgate University.
