Stingray clinic to be held this week
The annual clinic and tryouts for the Auburn YMCA Stingray Swim Team will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 12, 14, 19, 21 at the YMCA.
This is for ages 6 to 10 to learn the basics of competitive swimming; previous swim lessons are recommended. Must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.

Boater's course offered Sept. 25-27
There will be a New York State Boaters Safety course from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 25-27 at Bass Pro Shops.
Each class will be limited to 30 students and there will be a $35 fee due the day of the class.
Anyone interested must pre-register at Bass Pro shops or by calling 258-2700.
Babe Ruth seeking board members
The Auburn Babe Ruth League is looking for board members for the 2007 season.
There will be a board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Veterans Field on Ellis drive.
Pancake breakfast to benefit AHS runners
There will be a Pancake Breakfast 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Knights of Columbus. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Those under 5 years old are free.
The proceeds benefit Auburn boys and girls cross country teams.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast features pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit cocktail, milk, coffee, orange juice, regular toast and Red's Irish Toast.
Tai-Chi classes offered Wednesdays
The Auburn YMCA will offer Tai-Chi class every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Tai-Chi focuses on slow co-ordinated movements which help in coordination, breathing as well as balance.
The class is free to members and $25 per seven-week session for the general public.

holding gun raffle
Salmon Creek Sportsmen's Club will be putting on a Gun Raffle throughout October 2006.
All winning numbers are based on New York state evening lottery drawing tickets. Tickets are $20 each with 1,000 available.
Winners will be notified by phone and will have their choice of the gun of the day or a cash prize of the amount listed for the gun of the day.
