Dinner dance planned at Sicz Club
A dinner dance to honor members of the Sicz Club with 25 years of service and to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the club is planned for Oct. 7, at the club at 145 Washington St.
Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $20 per person for the dinner and dance and $10 for students and the dance only.

Budem-Razom, a Ukrainian band from Rochester will perform along with Dunaj, a dance group from Rochester.
Children's choir seeks singers
The Aurora Children's Choir is seeking children who love to sing.
Rehearsals are 4 p.m.
Sundays until Nov. 12, in
the United Ministry foyer
in Aurora.
No experience is needed. The choir is directed by Jennifer Sarah Haywood.

Counter Culture series to begin series
On Sept. 29, the Kitchen Theatre Company's ground breaking series, Kitchen Counter Culture, begins with “I Reject These Labels, ” written and performed by L.A.-based artist LeVan D. Hawkins.
“I Reject These Labels” is a multimedia solo performance piece. It will run for only three performances: 8 p.m. Sept. 29 and 30, and 4 p.m. Oct. 1.
The theater is located in the historic Clinton House, a renovated hotel in downtown Ithaca.
Grant writing for your organization
The Human Services Coalition of Cayuga County is offering grant preparation training from 4 to 6 p.m. starting, Thursday, Sept. 21 through Oct. 26, at the United Way office.
The training will cover how to determine if your organization is ready to write a grant; read an RFP/grant opportunity, find grant funding sources, develop a grant proposal and craft an outcome objectives and measurement.
Learn the importance of collaboration and hear from local funders.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive individual grant assistance before and after each session.
Nancy E. Sumner, a local grant writing consultant with Brush Bow Consulting, will facilitate the program. Cost for the training is $60 for Human Services Coalition members and $75 for non-members.

Chosen to be included in the art show at the fair were Cheryl Hunter, Lia Bates, Betty Komarisky, Rose Ann Spinelli, Jane Lynn and James Ryan.
Christmas craft show seeks crafters
A Red Creek Christmas craft show is being planned for Saturday, Nov. 18. The planners are currently looking for crafters who make quality items and artist to join their show.
