Geometric program held end of month
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, a 12-hour program for manufacturing and technical employees, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays beginning Sept. 25 through Oct. 16. It includes standard symbols and drawing notation, datum applications, interpreting the geometric tolerance callouts, and recommended inspection techniques. Classes will be held in the Business / Industry Center, 199 Franklin St., Auburn campus. Tuition is $129 and includes all materials.

Team Problem Solving and Decision Making Problems can provide individuals and organizations with opportunities for growth and creativity, or they can be obstacles to productivity. This common sense approach to solving problems can reduce the element of chance and can alert you to some common problem solving pitfalls. You will learn a six-step approach to solving problems and be exposed to a number of problem solving tools and techniques. The course is offered at the Business and Industry Centers in Fulton (806 West Broadway) and Auburn (199 Franklin St.), Thursday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuition is $79. The class will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 28 through Dec. 14, at the Auburn Campus, 197 Franklin St., room SH 21, Tuition is $315 (plus fees).

Cadet Andrew John Gill, son of Thomas and Cecelia Gill of Scipio Center has completed Cadet Basic Training in the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
He plans to graduate from West Point in 2010 and will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army.
Scipio student to study abroad
Elizabeth Trojnor-Riley daughter of Anne Trojnor of Scipio Center and Michael Riley of Scipio Center is studying abroad in Berlin, Germany for the fall 2006 semester, through a program run by St. Michael's College. She is a junior political science major.
Women named Rensselaer winners
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute announces the winners of the Rensselaer Medal. Reagan Lynn Cuddy, of Auburn is this year's honoree at Auburn High School.
College hosts guard, security training
Cayuga Community College has been approved by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Bureau for Municipal Police, as a Security Guard Training School and is certified to offer training as required by law. Training will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 27 and 28, at 197 Franklin St., room M312. Tuition is $65.
