While driving from Sagamore Hill to Oyster Bay yesterday, Miss Ehtil Roosevelt, daughter of the president was thrown out of a buggy, the horse became frightened by an automobile.

The Cayuga County Sheriff's Department is investigating the burglary of an antique carriage. Investigator Coe Ecker said the carriage - reported stolen Sept. 12 was taken from a barn off Duck Road in Fleming. In addition to the theft of the carriage, Ecker said antique maps were also taken from the barn.

Law-enforcement authorities made their first arrest Friday in the worldwide investigation of this week's terrorist attacks, apprehending a suspect in New York thought to have relevant information. Also Friday, searchers recovered the “black box” voice recorder from United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed near Pittsburgh.
