They have wings and they float, but don't expect ducks at Emerson Park this Sunday.
Sea plane pilots will be using the park as their landing field during the Wings Over Owasco Float-Plane Fly In.
Host B.J. Riester said he started the event as a way to offer the community something to do in Auburn.
“It's very casual,” he said. “It's something to bring the family and see the planes flying in.”
There are a variety of models expected to fly in, though Riester, who owns a few float planes himself, said most of them are older airplanes.
The planes are expected to fly in around noon and will land on the water.
Gary Duckett, director of Emerson Park described the event as “really quite interesting,” and
said usually the pilots also are willing to do demonstrations for the
public.
