The exhibit of pigeons submitted by the Beardsley Farm at Edgewater, Owasco Lake, in the competition at the Moravia Fair came off with a string of victories. Only homing pigeons were entered and the prizes included a first for a pair of blue bars, another for a pair of blue checks, and a special prize for a pair of white homing in competition with some of the classier birds.

United States to be awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study
in Europe next winter.

The city will have a place to dump its garbage for at least another five years. The City Council last night decided to go ahead and build another landfill cell. The council also agreed to buy two new garbage trucks. Despite concerns over a $1.7 million tax shortfall, city officials felt they were forced to act due to the amount of garbage in the current landfill.
