Why are police officers and other employees of the sheriff or police department allowed to get away with not paying for crimes they have done? If they do the crime, they need to do the time like every other citizen.
What is with all the national columns on the editorial page, where it used to be reserved for people in the community? How about getting back to letting the community having a voice?
Schlegel steals $9,781.28, gets five years probation, no jail time and is being considered for a “certificate of relief” to obtain a gun license. This is equal justice, when compared with the former sheriff's $4,000 and jail time?
