Auburn city police are investigating an armed robbery of the Auburn Fastrac Markets' gas station and convenience store Thursday morning.
A man armed with a handgun demanded money from the store clerk, police said. Patrol officers were dispatched after the robbery at 1:52 a.m.

Less than $100 cash was stolen from the 135 Grant Ave., Auburn, store, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, 19 to 22 years of age, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 120 to 125 pounds. He has dark, wavy and shoulder-length hair. He was last seen wearing a ski mask, dark jeans, a gray shirt and a red knit cap.

Police were able to track the suspect's direction of travel by a search with K-9 units and officers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Auburn Police Department at 253-3235 or 255-4726.

" Given that description, he should be easy to spot. Who else would be wearing a ski mask and a knit cap this time of year? "
