The Diocese of Syracuse will wait for a miracle before it investigates Mary Reilly's claims that she communicates with the Virgin Mary in the grotto behind St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Skaneateles. Danielle Cummings, spokeswoman for the diocese, said Reilly must first hear a call to build a new church, someone must be healed or the Virgin must instruct a new method of prayer before the diocese will step in. If one of those things happen, the diocese would likely begin its investigation by asking Reilly to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
