Another rainout for Doubledays
The Auburn Doubledays' game against the State College Spikes was postponed due to rain on Sunday. It was the second straight rainout at Falcon Park.

The game will be made up today as part of a doubleheader. Game 1 will begin at 6 p.m.

Little League seeks board members

Auburn Little League is seeking board members for the 2007 season.

Anyone interested should submit a letter to P.O. Box 492 by Sept. 7.

Sign-ups start Aug. 30 for AHS football

Auburn freshman and modified football sign ups will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 30-31, at Seward Elementary School.

Anyone interested in playing should attend. The first practice will be Sept. 1, and all players must have a physical to play.

Champions for Life starts fall programs

The Champions for Life Sports Center is now accepting registration for fall programs.

Classes offered include gymnastics (ages 2 and up), cheerleading and tumbling (ages 7 and up), home school fitness program (ages 3 and up), karate (ages 8 and up), indoor tennis (ages 4 through adult) and indoor soccer leagues (ages 4 and up).

Grandparents class to be held at YMCA

There will be a seven-week Grandparents and Me class from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Mondays starting Sept. 11, at the YMCA.

The class spends a half hour in the gym, a half hour in the pool followed by a half hour for lunch and a story. Parents are welcome, too.

Stingray swim clinic begins Sept. 12

The annual clinic and tryouts for the Auburn YMCA Stingray Swim Team will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 12, 14, 19, 21 at the YMCA.

This is for ages 6 to 10 to learn the basics of competitive swimming; previous swim lessons are recommended.

Bass Pro weekend set to begin Aug. 26

The Ducks Unlimited/Bass Pro Shops Waterfowl/Sporting Dogs Weekend will take place Aug. 26-27.

The weekend is dedicated to promoting the sport of waterfowling.

There will be tables with guides, waterfowl organizations and dog trainers as well.

There will also be seminars by the area's best waterfowlers and dog handlers.

Learn how to not only shoot waterfowl, but retrieve it and cook it as well.

There will also be a children's goose calling contest Sunday.
