How much money will continue to be spent on Auburn school athletes (three years ago new fitness centers, weight rooms and locker rooms built at both the high school and Holland Stadium, now millions for fake turf) when the high school auditorium is embarrassingly dark, has no stage lights, unworkable sound system, unsafe rigging, torn curtains, broken seats? Maybe if a couple of teams let go one of their many assistant coaches or trainers, there might be money to hire someone to maintain the auditorium.
It's great to know that our young people have a fun hobby and thanks so much for explaining what the Go Club is!

Naming the connector road after John Walsh leaves me scratching my head. Would naming it after Harriet Tubman hold more significance or was race a factor?

“Something's rotten in Denmark” - sorry to disillusion everyone but it is right here in Central New York. Otherwise why would one company/businesses after another be relocating and leaving this most glorious and prosperous state for the south or Iowa?

Behold, what a glorious surprise, as I took my usual route, turning onto Seminary Street, one fine morning and took the figures on the mural for real! I applaud the artist and the Liberty Store for this stupendous display!

" We have the Connector Road and the Arterial, so why not call the North St. to Grant Ave. bypass “The Bypass”? I think they should name that big sewage holding tank after someone. "

" No left turn into Dunkin’ Donuts? Where in hell was the Auburn and Cayuga County planning boards when the site plan was presented for review? Another fine mess because people didn’t pay attention. "

" I too mis-took the figures painted on the Liberty Store as real people. The artist has done a fantastic job, great mural on a wonderful store to do business in. The Goldmans (owners) have done a lot for the community and they have donated high quality clothing and winter coats to the less fortunate. Its good people like this that deserve good publicity and beautiful artwork displayed on thier wonderful store! "

" lets name the road after someone who really deserves it like a fallen soldier or a fireman who has died for us the least we can do is name a road after them.... come on now "

" It is nice to see that the Auburn police department is going to ticket the hard working people who make a left turn to get their morning coffee. Dont worry about the drug dealers and wife beaters in this fine city. "

" Ok, so do we really need one more thing named after Seward or Tubman?? Come on now. John Walsh is from Auburn, and while he may have what some of you are calling a "star ego" lets remember one thing...he would not be a "star" had he not lost his young son as he did. He took something very negative and turned it into a postive. Auburn should be proud to have someone like John Walsh as a native. And we're only naming a road after him......we're not renaming Auburn for crying out loud. "

" John Walsh moved out long aso. It would be a true honor to name it after a fireman who died in the line of duty protecting Auburn. Especially with all the bad publicity they have gotton recently. What are true memorial for a fallen hero!!! Let's honor " those people" "

" "Those people"??? You have to be kidding!!! Harriet Tubman has long been part of the history of Auburn. Besides William Seward, problably one of the few real contributprs to American history. Granted John Walsh has helped put some very deserving people behind bars, but I'd check out the ego star-seeking part of the personality. So I wonder what "those people" means? I guess it means those people sincerly interetested in honoring a true contibutor to freedom and history. (Cause I'm sure you didn't mean it as a racial slur) "

" Doesn't Auburn have any war veterans that won medals or died fighting for their country and actually lived in Auburn? In case you haven't noticed, John Walsh left Auburn a long time ago. Haven't any firemen or policemen lost their lives in the line of duty? "

" I agree with this writers concerns about how much money is spent for athletes. So many talented children, but not all of them athletes. I guess those kids had better start training for football if they want a shot at AHS. "
