The Auburn Xtreme 14-and-under team scored the winning runs in their last at bat to defeat Cazenovia 5-4 in Syracuse Fastpitch action this week.
Haley Jordan, Meg Feocco, Mollie Pinker and Brianne Moshaty all had hits to lead a balanced attack, and Rachel Carbonaro and Jordan each had RBIS. Sara Reese scored twice and started a rally-killing double play in the final inning. Brittany Lawler and Brittany Cunningham added strong defensive efforts, while Feocco picked up the win.
The Xtreme lost their earlier game 8-5 after rallying from a 6-0 deficit. Leah Netti, Jordan, Reese, Carbonaro and Pinker all had hits, and Rachel Giannone and Reese each had an RBI. Jessica VanGiesen and Lorrie Bellnier led the defense while Feocco and Shannon Haff were the losing pitchers.
The Xtreme 16-and-under team lost 6-1 to the Impact. Kate Smith (triple) and Erica Sherman had Auburn's only hits. Samantha Bruno and Kaylee Ladisair pitched with defensive support from Jamie Bruno, Nikki Neagle and Stefanie Spinney.
The Xtreme 18-and-under squad finished its season last week.
