Auburn Doubledays infielder Scott Campbell worked two walks, and outfieler Ben Zeskind went 0-for-2 with a strikeout as the American League defeated the National League 4-1 in the New York-Penn League All-Star Game at Ripken Field in Aberdeen, Md., Wednesday.
Doubledays pitcher Zach Dials was also selected to the American League team but did not pitch in the game.
Zeskind started the game in center field, and Campbell entered as the designated hitter in the fifth inning.
Staten Island's Nicholas Peterson picked up the win for the A.L.
The American League put the game away with two runs in the sixth and another insurance run in the eighth.
Mitchell Hilligoss of Staten Island led the A.L. with two hits and an RBI. Brooklyn's Dustin Martin (double) and Jamestown's Jacob Blackwood each had two hits for the N.L.
