The Fingerlakes Minor Soccer season is over. The members of the board would like to take this time to thank all of the people that make our program a success.
To our team sponsors, thank you.
We would love to name you all but there are many generous people that help this league, it would take too long. Without your sponsorship these kids would miss the chance to have these 13 weeks of soccer. It is your sponsorship that helps pay for the soccer balls, nets and all the way down to the smallest band-aid in the medical kit. Most importantly, you give these kids the pride of a name and team affiliation. The children of this league are part of something bigger than just themselves because of you. It is nice to know we live in a community with so many generous people willing to help their youth programs.
To First Niagara Bank for your very generous donation, thank you.
Words cannot express our appreciation and gratitude. In our time of need, you shined through and made it possible to replace goals that were in serious need of it. You are a leading example of the generosity and willingness to help in this community.
To the many people that help with the end of the year picnics, from the ones who organize and set up to the people that donate food and prizes, thank you from the bottom of our full bellies.
The smiles on the faces of the kids at the picnics are what this is all about.
Thank you to all the towns and private owners that help provide the fields.
Refs, should we say more? You keep discipline and control on the field. You are one of the guardians of our kids on the field. All of you have done a fantastic job and we hope to see you back again next year, thank you.
Parents, parents, parents, we would like to extend a big thank you to you. You put up with all the chaos that goes with a child in sports. You have stood in the rain and cheered them on to victory and you have melted in the sun as they faced defeat. You have fed them at half time and you have gotten lost trying to find the fields, but one thing is true: You have always been there. You are the support for the team. Thank you again.
Finally, we are at the one thank you that matters above all, the players. You are the reason we are all here. Without you, we would just be a bunch of silly adults looking at an empty soccer field. You show up every practice ready to learn from you coaches and other players. You show up to every game hoping to win but still leaving with a smile when you lose. You are a constant reminder to the coaches and parents that life should be fun. So thank you to the players for teaching us just as much as we tried to teach you.
Congratulations to the former players of FLMSL who formed a tournament team this year. You went against teams that have been playing together for years. Well you showed them something by winning their tournament in Chili, N.Y. Great job to all on the team.
