Regarding the detour of traffic for The Great Race; yes it is lawful. Have you ever seen traffic in the middle of a parade, the Boston Marathon, the New York Marathon?
Why would any sensible person want to walk on the wrong side of the road? Because of the thrill of a 2,000-pound-plus vehicle coming up from behind you?

Just one more thank you to all the volunteers and participants who made another successful Great Race. By the way, there were two thank yous that should have been, but were neglected to be mentioned - Poppy's Ice Cream truck and Daut's food tent.

The connector road, the casino and the kayak park are all pipe dreams.

Hats off to Dave Rabuano, Auburn Little League president, for the great job he has done upgrading the Little League facilities. Dave and his volunteers have once again shown why Auburn is a great place to live and raise a family.

Sure does sound like Time Warner is preparing us for a big increase in our cable bill. Another thing we'll have to decide if we can do without?

" I think it is great that they are naming the connector road after John Walsh. "

" The problem I see with bicyclist on the highway. During race events or rides. That have a large number of riders is, stay on the extreme right side of the road. This spring I was on 38A coming from Moravia. I was almost hit head on at hill and curve. Why? A couple riders was in the driving lane and a car came up on them. The driver had to swerve to miss hitting them. "

Go to basic cable to save money. wrote on Aug 17, 2006 12:09 PM:

" We used to spend over 45.00 for cable, now we spend 7.25. We get channels 2 to 13, 23,24, 59, and the Yankee channel. So if more of you would just go to basic cable for 7.25 maybe ,just maybe they would lower the higher tier rates. It's a small sacrifice.Live a little life, instead just being a couch potato. "
