Two Cents

Let's get rid of the awful green slime on Hoopes Park. It's a beautiful place and the poor ducks can't be happy either!
Why is it that you wait in line at DMV for half an hour only to have them misinform you about paperwork that is needed so that you have to come back a second time? Someone coming in for the first time shouldn't be expected to know what to do.

How about that group home the Seneca-Cayuga ARC purchased on Dennis Street for an absurd amount, and is making repairs on it for $110,000. Do you think they could of budgeted their money a little better to include a lawn service?

Why isn't the land between Emerson Park and Auburn Country Club open to the public, because it is state land, and the country club's had posted signs on it for a long time.

After reading the Two Cents and letters to the editor, you can see why Auburn is destined to be a small no-name little town at the end of one of the Finger Lakes, like it has been for the past 40 years.

We enjoy the street preaching near Wegmans. It is nice to hear something other than FILTH coming from people's mouth.

" For the last 45 years that I know of, the soot and growth contained in that pond has been on the city's wish list to take care of. The city knows that they have to drain the pond, kill vegitation, reinforce the area. The question lies-- ARE YOU WILL TO SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY to correct the problem. For you ice skaters info,-- this is why Hoopes Park pond takes for ever to freeze-- too much soot. "

" The expensive astroturf fiasco at the Auburn school district will prevent future available money for textbooks, school supplies, and utilities. The taxpayers can see money for direct educational costs, and needed roof repairs, but the astroturf is a luxury that is not necessary. "

" Dear Time Warner: I just want to say that if you take away my NFL Network, I'm definately going to become a Dish Network subscriber. If Dish Network can offer NFL Network in their Expanded Basic lineup, and still charge less than your company is charging me for the same type of lineup, there's no reason you can't do the same. It's all about greed on your part, by trying to force people into paying extra for something they already had at no extra cost. My brother had Time Warner Cable where he lives, and dropped it because of 2 rate increases, one in January, and another in May. He then went to Dish Network, and he loves it. So, saying that it's in the best interest of your customers for doing this, is a lot of b.s. It's all about your bottom line. I thought the Time Warner coming to Auburn was going to be a good thing, but I got fooled. "
