Mike Granato fanned 12 batters and pitched a complete game to lead ACF to a 6-2 victory over Stanton Automatics in a Little League playoff game Thursday.

Conor Engle had a big two run triple to help back Granato along with great defense by Alex Mitchell, Andrew Elice, Ryan McCormick and Matt Netti.

Stanton got big hits from Dan Cheiles, Anthony Murray and Mike Charles.

Kayne Design 7, APD 6

Anthony Brown and Liam Greasko each had two-run singles and Anthony Sheets made a great catch in right field to end the game as Kayne Design won its first-round playoff game.

Matt Colella and Matt Carberry pitched for Kayne.

APD was led by two towering two-run homers off the bat of Mike Gamba.

BABE RUTH LEAGUE

Auburn Federal Credit Union 8, SK-Post 6

Kevin Festa pitched and helped his own cause with two hits. Brian Brazee, Matt Festa, Joe McQueeney also had two hits each to lead AFCU.

Zach Kalabanka and Nick Pesarchick chipped in with RBI singles.

Tom Trowell and Brad Murdock led SK-Post with two hits each.

KIDS SANDLOT LEAGUE

Throop Fire Dept. 19, Vietnam Vets 7

Austin Jenner had a grand slam and drove in seven runs and Brady Jenner was the winning pitcher and drove in five runs to lead Throop Fire Dept. to a convincing win.

Mitchell France and Alex Gaunas had key defensive plays in the win.

Morgan Malone, Megan Kassel, Shephan Crisafulli and BJ Fipps led the Vets.
