An Auburn man struck his ex-girlfriend and a teenage boy with his vehicle Tuesday night, Auburn city police reported.
David W. McCormick, 19, of 54 Walnut St., became angry to see his ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend in the Casey Park area, police said.
Then McCormick “recklessly drove” his blue 1993 Ford Taurus toward a group in the park's south parking lot, police said. Police and other officials were dispatched at 10:11 p.m.
Police said McCormick's vehicle struck his ex-girlfriend, Erica R. Sherman, 17, of Auburn, and Jonathan M. King, 14, of Auburn. King was unrelated to McCormick or Sherman's conflict, police said.
King suffered a head injury and Sherman suffered a leg injury. Both King and Sherman were treated and released from Auburn Memorial Hospital.
They were initially treated at the scene by the Auburn Fire Department and then transported to AMH by TLC Ambulance.
McCormick's vehicle also caused minor damage to a parked car and a portion of the fence surrounding the pool area, police said. McCormick was charged by the Auburn Police Department with two misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault and two misdemeanor counts of second-degree reckless endangerment. McCormick has an appearance in Auburn City Court scheduled for today.
