Movie and music at Hoopes Park
The Kevin Dorsey Collective will play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Hoopes Park.
The performance will be followed by the movie “Duma,” a tale about a boy, a cheetah and an adventure-packed journey.
Refreshments will be available. Bring a blanket or chair.
Continuing with the music at the park, That '70s Band will play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3.
Hat party tips off in Port Byron
The Lock 52 Historical Society of Port Byron, 73 Pine St., will host a “Tea” at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9.
You can grab a hat or make one to join the fun.
There will be prizes for the prettiest, funniest and most unusual hat, as well as entertainment and goodies.

Boaters safety class at Bass Pro Shops
There will be a New York State Boaters Safety Course taught from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 20, at Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall.
The course will be taught by Ralph Gray.
The class will be limited to only 30 students and there is a $35 fee due by the day of the class.
Students should meet at the fish tank and the instructor will lead the class to the seminar area.
Anyone interested must pre-register at the Bass Pro Shops customer service counter or by calling the store at 258-2700 and asking for the customer service counter.
Bowhunting safety course is Aug. 22-23
There will be a New York Bowhunting Safety Course from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 22 and 23, at Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall.
The course is mandatory if someone has never had a bow hunting license before. The course will be taught by Ralph Gray.
The class size is limited and students need to pre-register at the customer service counter or by calling the store at 258-2700 and asking for the customer service counter. The class is free.
Passport, safety day in Moravia
Sheriff Rob Outhouse and County Clerk Sue Dwyer will hold a Passport and Public Safety Day in Moravia.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2, at the Moravia Firehouse on Keeler Avenue, off Route 38, and North Main Street in the village.
Outhouse will showcase public safety programs such as the Safe Child ID, the new public access Sex Offender registry, STOPPED (young driver responsibility) and discuss child safety issues including vehicle restraints.

Model T Tour coming to CNY
The Keystone Kops regional group of the International Model T Club from Pennsylvania will be touring though central New York from Aug. 16 through 19.
Twenty-one Model Ts will tour the area beginning in Skaneateles and traveling through New Hope, Auburn, Oswego, Sodus, Fair Haven, Port Byron and Weedsport.
