Cut the astroturf. With four reading teachers cut, and seven teacher aides cut atthe Auburn School District, I say cut the astroturf.
How sad that this paper is so eager to promote all the wineries, bar activities, wine tastings, etc. when the end results of these activities can lead to the deaths and sufferings of so many innocent people.

From listening to all the school district sports coaches, administrators, parents, sports boosters, and that slick talking astroturf salesman who are the only ones that support astroturf, that went from a low of $900K to $2.6million in a week, the taxpayers may be ripped off on unaffordable fake grass.

We can pay for the artificial turf at East Middle School by dividing up the field into cemetery plots and sell them to the school board members and maybe former football players. That will raise well over a million dollars at $5,000 a plot.

Every time I drive down Westlake Avenue I am so impressed with the beautifully renovated homes while remembering how much in disrepair and neglect they used to be. It#,s a great testament to what can be accomplished, but I wish that people would respect our planet and keep it clean!

" YOU were the kid in HS that everyone picked on right; or the shy kid who picked his nose in Biology? C'mon dude, throwing cheap digs @ former AHS Football players? Pretty weak...Well, if it was athletes that picked on ya, im sorry. Just so you know I was a former athlete @ AHS and I was friendly to everyone in every clique. I see your point on the 2.6M turf project. It is pricey, but if done right - the school and city could make that $$$ back easily by leasing it out! "

" Why hasen't the parking lot behind the new ice cream store on Mattie St. been opened? Whoever is in charge of approving it better get on the job before a little kid runs out from between the many parked cars in front and gets hurt. "
