Two Cents

We all want a $500,000 house, Alpha Romeo car and Dior clothes. There is a big difference between need and want, such as artificial turf.
The Auburn School District should spend more money on helping students learn and grow. Keep more money in the taxpayers wallets and not install fake grass, called astro turf.

Artificial turf - absolutely not. Give the money you would spend on that to the senior citizens.

Social Security recipients have worked and paid for what they receive and where they spend it should be their choice, even if it is a casino. There is little senior citizens can actually participate in and enjoy.

As a person who lives in what used to be an old “drug house” before we bought the property, got it back up to code, and drove out the drug dealers and their customers, let me say THANK YOU to those good people in law enforcement who caught over 100 people statewide in that recent drug bust.

The synthetic turf should be at Holland Stadium simply because all varsity sports are played there (football, lacrosse, soccer, etc.) By making it a turf field, the freshman and JV sports could start to play there if need be.

Holland Stadium is where it's all at, the lights, seating, concession - it is one of the better stadiums around. I'm sure not many people want to stand around the high school and watch games.

Murray Lynch's comments about the Republicans and the welfare bill - that was Bill and Hillary's baby. He was proud to sign that.

As a former player of T.J. Gamba's I must agree with the writer the other day. This community will never find another candidate with the experience, (professional player, collegiate coach) intensity, and overall ability to make a difference in a young man's life.

I would like to know why Assemblyman Finch and Senator Nozzolio haven't obtained the necessary funding for the Cayuga County Soil and Water District, so they can fix or buy a new aquatic weed control machine, so they can eliminate the overgrowth of weeds on all the lakes in Cayuga County.

" Pro football players are going from OLD-STYLE astroturf, which is a terrible accident-causer, to EITHER real grass OR the new artificial turf, which is great. They can go to real grass in a high-rent stadium because they have the money and personnel to tend it. I've played football on all three and have to say, the new artificial turf was the best of the three because so often real grass isn't kept up perfectly. BUT, that said, if the money base isn't there, funds should go first to academics. "

" Most all the professional football teams are going back to regular grass. They have found that Astro Turf contributed to far too many injuries. The Green Bay Packers here in Wisconsin have renovated the stadium and removed the Turf and put back in the regular gras field. "
