Town Justice Barbara Decker is protesting the town board's decision to abolish the position of senior town justice, a title Decker believed she's earned. The town board got rid of the title, but not the justice slot, in June with the resignation of Town Justice Robert Forman, who held the job for several years. Decker believed that, with Forman's resignation, she should have assumed the senior role. Town officials abolished the title because they believed the designation created problems between the two judges.
