Hand Held Products holds job fair

During the past 18 months Hand Held Products in Skaneateles Falls already hired 170 new employees.
Monday, began the company's search for 30 more.

Hand Held Products, a maker of image-based data collection equipment, hosted a job fair Monday evening to begin interviewing for both temporary and full-time positions that will balance the increase in demand of products to employees.

Of the 170 new employees, 80 were hired in 2006.

Paul Pulio, manufacturing manager, said the company's production is three times the expected volume for 2006 creating between 25 and 30 more job opportunities for the company. Pulio said image end product manufacturing increases, such as handheld scanners, are in large demand.

Temporary and full-time positions are available for machine operators, said Stephanie Chiesi Reh, manager of human resource services for Hand Held. Beginning salaries can range anywhere from $10.15 to $12 an hour.

Hand Held is also hiring machine operators in preparation for the extensive sale of equipment it will soon be supplying to a large company, Pulio said.

Hand Held provides operating equipment to the largest retail, transportation and logistics companies in the world.

Recruiters were present Monday to conduct first round interviews for prequalified candidates, Chiesi Reh said.
