Applebee scores game-tying goal

AUBURN - John Applebee scored one of his two goals for Kalyan late in the game to tie UPS 3-3 in a Fingerlakes Minor Soccer League senior division game on Monday. Brian Locastro added another goal for Kalyan.
Jared Guy had 21 saves in goal, and Kiley Hitchcock, Frankie Smart and Jordan Stevens played well on defense.

For UPS, Andy Brown scored all three goals, and Adam Caldwalder had 19 saves in goal. Matt Pliss and Adam Roof played well on defense.

SQUIRT

Vitale Ready Mix 2,

Farmboy Graphics 1

Jeremy St. Martin and Madison Bannister found the net for Vitale. David Butler had three saves in goal, and Damion Ealy had two. Matthew VanWyckhouse and Cody Donahue played well on defense.

Melissa Girvin scored Farmboy's lone goal. Lily Nelson had three grabs in goal and Hannah McLoughlin had two.

RX City Pharmacy 4,

Bombard Chevrolet 3

Kevin Deyo scored three goals for RX City Pharmacy and Madelyn Van Liew added one. Van Liew also had two saves in goal, as did Nikoli Biljanoski. MaKenzie Mead had one. Mead, Biljanoski, Zane Canes and Matt Blair played great on defense.

Collin Bard, Marissa Wick and Leah Wright all found the net for Bombard. Brianna BeSaw, Emily Weller and Anthony Edwards each had one save in goal, and Wick had four. Arianna Lee and Cheyenna Ling played well on defense.

ATOM

Recckio's Body Shop 0

Brad Short scored the lone goal in the tight contest. Shelby Guerro had four saves in goal, and Kaitlyn Abraham, Sam Relfe, Alicia Hadcock and Tim Short played well on defense.

Goalie Amanda Lupo had four saves, and Paul Tarby had three. Emily Martens, Nicholas Alexander, Micala Tarby and Stephanie Helzer played well on defense.

Auburn Federal Credit Union 2,

Heijeck-Pelc Funeral Home 2

Daniel Netto scored both goals for AFCU. Maria Lukowski (three saves) and Eric Prior (two) played well in goal.

Kaileigh Cialdone and Chase VanDuyne each scored once, and Taylor MacBane and Ed Vivenzio had one save each in goal.

Wachovia 1, BMW Tax Service 1

Lianna Brentlinger found the net for BMW.

For Wachovia, Mark Trupiano scored, and goalie Jacob Charles had two saves.

Nick Carr, Corey Swann, Alex Burtless, Kara Burtless, Kara Hickey and Kayln Townsend played well on defense for Wachovia.

Michael's Restaurant 2,

D. Landers & Co. 0

Corey Brahney and Dan Mastropietro both found the net for Michael's, while Sean Lattimore had one save. Mastropietro played well in goal as well.

Liam Delaney had a good game in goal and Zack Gianerelli played well on defense.

AUBURN ARSENAL YOUTH SOCCER

College Division

Georgetown 5,

Cortland Red Dragons 3

Celina Rescott scored four goals, and Hannah Reilly added one for Georgetown. Baylee Casper had two assists and Marisa Pannetti played well defensively.

For Cortland, Alexandra Mitchell scored twice, and Julia Rescott scored a goal and assisted on another. Anne Sabine played well at the midfield position.

UConn 5, Syracuse 2

Megan Ryan scored three goals and assisted on another to lead UConn. Hailey Ryan scored once and had one assist. Kira Sloan scored once, and Gracie Bachman had an assist.

For Syracuse, Lacey Netti and Lauren Guinnip each scored once, and Alise Bartolotta had an assist. Peyton Charles played well at midfield.

World Cup Division

Ghana 2, Mozambique 0

Emily Latanyshyn scored both goals for Ghana in the win. Emmalee Langtree and Molly Sabing played well on defense.

Morgan Plug and Julianna Riordan played well for Mozambique.

Brazil 5, Italy 0

Hanna Flaherty, Alayna Slayton, Jennifer Currier, Teresa Moore and Emily Gillespie all scored in the win. Jenna Alberici added an assist.

Brook Whitman and Michaela Breeze played well for Italy.

EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER LEAGUE

Auburn 8, Bishop Grimes 0

Nikki Szczepanski scored four goals for Auburn, and Jordan Pelc, Melissa Hrynyk, Flannery Nangle and Shannon McKormick all added goals. Abby Gamba, Lauren Dunster and Jenna Dombrowski all played well on defense. Virginia Porten and Kim Luebner combined to have four saves in the shutout.
