Talbot hits double, home run to lead team to victory

AUBURN - Kevin Talbot and Nick Covich combined to fan 13 batters for The Citizen in an 8-2 win over Dunkin Donuts in an Auburn Pony League baseball game Monday.
Talbot also doubled and hit a home run over the left-field fence. Covich and John Brown had one hit each. Chris Wawro and Jacob Weed played well on defense.

Jack Hogan led Dunkin Donuts with two hits, including a double. Pat LaDouce and Chandler Coleman each had one hit.

Emerald Payroll 5,

Bellerdine Investigations 1

Jordan Middleton (four) and Tyler Weslowski (six) combined for 10 strikeouts on the mound in the win. Justin Valentino, Hunter Charles, Micah Quigley, Kasey Engle and Steven Desimone had hits in the win.

Tyler Weslowski had the lone hit for Bellerdine.

LITTLE LEAGUE

Bouley's 14, Kayn Design 10

Luke Drancsak (triple) and Charles Williams (three doubles) led Bouley's with three hits each. Jamie Kelly added two. Justin Middleton and Brandon Raftis had good performances on the mound.

Jim Spinelli and A.J. Sheets pitched well for Kayn, and Matt Carberry smacked a triple and Liam Grazko roped two doubles.

Nucor 13, Mortimers 5

Adam Zelehowski and Nick Bolak combined for seven strikeouts in the win. Bolak added three hits, including a triple, and Zelehowski and Nick Price also roped triples and had two hits each. Joel Handley had two hits also.

For Mortimers, Dana Scarselletta and Matt Nolan led with two hits each, while Jamie Terry had a double.

SANDLOT

Nucor 16, Auburn Police 15

Kyanna Currier earned the game ball for Nucor after she led her team with four hits. Timmy Feocco, Tyler Faulkner and Christian Walters had two hits each in the win.

Gavin Kirby, Anna Alberry and Dylan Post each had a hit for Auburn Police as well as playing good defense.

Byrne Dairy 8, Butler Services 3

Hitting RBIs for Byrne Dairy were Matt Tehan (double), Tony Meyers (triple, single), Trae'von Tortorici (double) and Paul Quinn (double).

Cody Fredette also hit a double, and Savannah Hinman played well on defense.

For Butler, Daniel Kopp smacked a double, and Marissa Kopp and Shane Allen played well on defense. Allen also had a good game on the mound.

BABE RUTH

Auburn Federal Credit Union 6,

Auburn Police Department 3

Nick Pesarchick and Chris Catino combined to throw a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead AFCU. Pesarchick led the offense as well with two hits and Joe McQueeney and Matt Festa added a double apiece.

Jared Humphrey went 3-for-3 for APD.
