HIT: A pancake breakfast fund-raiser in Weedsport Sunday had an unusual twist: Some of the participants came in from out of the sky.
The annual get-together at Whitford Airport was attended by people who arrived in classic automobiles and motorcycles, as well as airplanes. Enthusiasts of any - or all - modes of transportation thus had a chance to see something new and share their passion with others.
The drive-in and fly-in breakfast was sponsored by the Weedsport Wanderers Snowmobile Club, as a way to have fun while earning money to support trail maintenance.
HIT: Aurora was revealed in all its splendor as the village hosted AuroraFest Saturday.
A grand parade highlighted an afternoon punctuated by music, food and games.
“It serves no purpose other than just to bring the residents out to have a good time,” Aurora resident Carolyn Connors said.
We can't think of a better reason to have a community festival.
