Auburn swimmers holding fundraiser
There will be a can and bottle drive to benefit the Auburn High School varsity swim team at noon July 9, at Swartz Physical Therapy at 197 State St.
Cans and bottles can be dropped off at any time.
Canoe practices for Great Race on-going
There will be Great Race canoe practices every Wednesday, until the Great Race.
Practices will be held at 6 p.m. at Emerson Park.
Participants can practice either the long or short course.

D-days/YMCA offer baseball camp
There will be a Doubledays/YMCA youth baseball camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. that will run Aug. 7-9.
Doubledays coaches and players will provide instruction for boys and girls ages 8-15.
The fee is $35 for YMCA members and $70 for the general public.

Bona Memorial tourney July 10
The 13th annual Joseph M. Bona Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Monday, July 10, at Lakeview Golf and Country Club.
It will be a captain and crew format with three divisions: men, women or mixed, with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The cost is $65 per person and includes 18 holes, cart, food and beverages on the course, dinner and prizes.
All proceeds benefit the Joseph M. Bona Memorial Scholarship Fund at LeMoyne College.
Applications are available at Lakeview Golf and Country Club.

Champions for Life Sports Center is offering summer programs for gymnastics, tennis and karate.
The six-week program is being held from July 10 to Aug. 24.
Weekly classes for gymnastics are for boys and girls ages 2 and older.
Tumbling for cheerleading weekly classes for boys and girls ages seven and older.
Weekly classes for tennis are for boys and girls ages seven and up, with private and group lessons for ages 13 and up.
Karate classes will be held for boys and girls ages eight through adult.

The 2006 Little League Challenger League opening day will be at 5 p.m. on July 8 at the Little League Fields at Emerson Park.
If you haven't registered, show up at 4:30 to do so. Teams will be picked and the schedule will be set up.

Geneva triathlon to be held next week
The Musselman Triathlon will be offering a prize purse of $4,200.
First-place winners in the men's and women's races will be awarded $1,000.
The half-ironman distance swim-bike-run event will take place July 16, in Geneva.
