County should vote for Gould to be new sheriff

Tuesday, July 4, 2006 12:00 AM EDT

With the upcoming Cayuga County sheriff election, I would like to encourage every voter in Cayuga County to take the time to vote. It is imperative for a change in leadership at our Sheriff's department. There is no doubt that Dave Gould is the change we need to hold the position of our sheriff. Dave's strong relationship and respect he receives from fellow law enforcement speaks for itself, with the endorsements he received from the Cayuga County Deputy Sheriff's Police Association, Cayuga County Deputy Sheriff's Benevolent Association Members of Auburn, Butler, and Cayuga Correctional Facility, New York State Deputies Association, the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers Inc, Central New York Chapter of the Association of Former New York State Troopers, and New York State Police Investigators Association just to name a few of Dave's endorsements.
Dave is a man who truly cares about the citizens of this county.

With Dave as an active member of many committees such as the Cayuga County Elder Abuse Committee, Cayuga County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Cayuga County Child Sexual Abuse Task Force, just to name a few, he shows a continuous commitment to helping improve the safety and well-being of all the citizens of our county.

Dave is also compassionate about treating fellow co-workers as equals. He is always open to new ideas as well as criticism.

If Dave is elected sheriff, the deputies and citizens of our county will finally be able to go to our sheriff and express options without fear of retribution.

I urge all the citizens to learn more about Dave for themselves. Go to www.GOULD2006.com and read all about the man we need to be the sheriff of our county.

Thank you.

" I guess the department will be run by democratic process and policies will be set by the rank and file? Just who will be in charge with Gould at the helm? Certainly not Mr. Gould. You cannot run a sheriff's department with everyone being an equal. There are ranks and if they can't deal with rank and obey, then they won't work. It will be every man for himself. "
