Auburn and Skaneateles both capped fine seasons with a trip to the Section III playoffs. The Maroons defeated Rome Free Academy in the first round behind the arm of Dan Zambito and the bat of Zach Prentice.
The Lakers finished the regular season 13-4 and had one of the best pitching tandems in the section - Mike Pesarchick and Sam Sarofeen. Skaneateles defeated South Jefferson in sectionals but eventually lost to Notre Dame.
Cato-Meridian may have been the surprise of the season. The Blue Devils re-emerged and just missed a trip to sectionals, finishing the season 9-8 with big wins over Bishop Grimes and Fabius-Pompey.
