President Bush out of touch with reality

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 12:22 PM EDT

It'd be nice if George W. Bush would get his head out of the clouds and get real.
How much longer will it take him to get down to earth?

How high up in the ionosphere is he on Cloud Nine?

Is that Could Nine on this planet or one of the others?

Venus could be a possibility. George does have a lot of love in his heart for others, like himself living in a fantasy world on Cloud Nine where reality doesn't exist.

When first informed America was under attack on 9/11, George seemed obviously not tuned in to the reality of it.

His slow response to Katrina showed he lacked the reality of the crisis. George had WMDs as the reality for going to was with Irag.

The WMDs turned out to be fantasy.

George says it's fantasy that he stole either election.

Reality says otherwise. George is gung-ho on democracy for America and Iraq.

Reality says otherwise, because a democracy is run by all the people under it.

George doesn't listen to the majority of Americans, only his special interest friends living on Cloud Nine.

Another of George's Cloud Nine fantasies if that Social Security needs to be privatized and everything will be hunky-dory. Baloney!

The reality is George and his special interests Cloud Nine living friends need to keep their can't do anything right, meddling, tomfoolery, mixed-up-thing, completely far away from Social Security.

It needs to be left alone intact, and untouched, away from their money-mad hands.

As to George's biggest fantasy pipe dream - Iraq bringing peace and stability - that is not going to happen in the time span he thinks it will.

A decade or two would be more realistic and even that might not come to pass at all.

It is past time for George W. Bush to get real but the reality is, it'll never happen.

" Auburnian: I don't believe that GWB lied. I do believe that he was given lousy intelligence and went on what we, the Brits, and others believed to be true. Yes, there certainly was dissent, but if you were the President and knowing what happened on 9/11 as well as knowing what a person like Hussein was capable of, would you not err on the side of caution? I wouldn't want to be in his shoes for that decision. I don't trust Kerry to be a competent leader in a time of crisis, that was my meaning. The Dems always seem to be looking for concensus. I think Margaret Thatcher said something to the affect of "Concensus is due to lack of leadership". Just my personal feeling. "

" You imply that leftists are hypocritical? How is that more hypocritical than being pro-life and a war-hawk, which is what many right wingers are. I don't think either side is necessarily hypocritical. It depends on how they view these issues. A pro-choice liberal just doesn't think a 3-week old fetus is truly "alive." And a war-hawk may think he is ultimately protecting life by using preemptive or preventive measures. "

" Your circulation goes down, because people are sick of reading murray's far left thinking. He defends life, but supports candidates that are pro-chose "

" Mr. Fulton, the Ottoman Empire and terrorist organizations are vastly different entities. While it is arguable that we are heading towards a "Clash of Civilizations," the situation is very much unlike the case you mentioned. Mr. Note, I find it interesting that you would "shudder" if we didn't go to Iraq (or at least I think that is what you mean). Personally, I tend to shudder when our President lies about reasons for starting a war and plans poorly for a war and its aftermath. "

" Murray leans so far left, he needs a kickstand. Your non-existent WMDs just turned up, to the tune of 500 or so shells. But, you being a liberal, you'll just move the goalposts. We could find a nuke there and the left would say it isn't the right color, therefor it isn't a WMD. You should be glad we have a president with a spine. I shudder to think where we would be right now if John Kerry had been elected. There is treatment for BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome), I suggest you find a competent therapist. "

" Murray old buddy, We are in a civilzational struggle not unlike that of the mid-15th century when the Ottoman Empire was turned back at the gates of Vienna. And we are fortunate that George Bush understands that, recognizes evil, and doesn't tolerate evil. Recent and current Democrat would be Presidents are among those who regret that they have but one country to give for their life. "
